All articles submitted are liable to be passed through our predefined Review Process. Our Review Methodology the following procedure before accepting an article to be published.

Plagiarism checking

Shanlax International Journal of Commerce uses the Grammarly software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts. Grammarly software checks content against a database of periodicals, the Internet, and a comprehensive article database. It generates a similarity report, highlighting the percentage of overlap between the uploaded article and the published material. Any instance of content overlap is further scrutinized for suspected plagiarism according to the publisher’s Editorial Policies. SIJ Commerce allows an overall similarity of 35% for a manuscript to be considered for publication

The Editorial Board regards the willful, negligent, or unfair use of intellectual property, full or partial copying of another author’s text without quoting the authorship as a plagiarism. Authors are fully responsible for the originality of submitted for reviewing manuscripts, as well as for adherence to the scientific citation ethics. Plagiarism in all its forms is inappropriate.

All the materials submitted for review go through the procedure of verification of text uniqueness using appropriate software. When plagiarism in the submitted manuscript is identified, it is returned to the author without the possibility of resubmission after revision.

Published manuscripts which contain plagiarized text are retracted from the journal’s website after careful investigation and approval by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. A ‘Retraction Note’, as well as a link to the original article, is published on the electronic version of the plagiarized manuscript and an addendum with retraction notification in the particular journal.

Article sent to Reviewer

After receipt of an article for review, the reviewer evaluates the possibility of its reviewing make sure of the absence of any conflict of interest. Period of the manuscript reviewing may take up to 30 days.

  1. The author is notified via e-mail about reviewing results. If the article is approved for publication the Executive Secretary shall notify the author about the expected date of publication
  2. If the reviewer points to the need to make certain corrections to the manuscript, the author will get completed Reviewing form with the comments and suggestions. The author is obliged to return the updated accordingly article, or in case of disagreement with the reviewer’s opinion, the author is entitled to a reasonable response to the Editorial Board within 10 days.
  3. The final decision on the possibility of the submitted paper publication is taken by the Editor-in-Chief.
  4. All submissions are initially assessed by an editor, who decides whether articles are suitable for academic review and/or publication. Suitability is assessed in relation to the focus and scope of the journal and the article type.
  5. Suitable articles for review are assigned to a minimum of one reviewer including guest reviewers. Submissions are assessed for their clarity, methodology, and validity.
  6. The academic review is strictly anonymous, meaning that reviewers are not known to authors and vice versa.

Peer-Review / Double Blind Review

  1. All submissions are double-blind peer-reviewed by the experts in the corresponding area. Manuscripts reviewing are fully confidential. Reviewer’s conclusion, as well as any information regarding the submitted manuscript, is not disclosed to anybody except the author.
  2. After notifying the author about the manuscript is approved for publication, he/she is obliged to submit personally signed Copyright Agreement Submitted for publication manuscripts are processed according to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives license (CC BY-NC-ND).
  3. All submitted articles are subjected to an extensive peer review in consultation with members of the journal’s editorial board and independent external referees (usually two reviewers). All manuscripts are assessed rapidly and the decision based on all the peer reviewers' comments, taken by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, is then conveyed to the author(s).
  4. Submissions from the Editor-in-Chief will undergo independent peer-review and will be submitted to another Editor for his decision on acceptance.
  5. Articles must be written in good English in a clear and correct style in order to maintain uniformity throughout the text. Articles submitted are copyedited before they are published.
  6. Since our SIJ Commerce take part in Open Access Movement, all our published articles are made public and deposited in zenodo repositories with DOI.
