It is a form of organization that is oriented towards service rather than pecuniary profit. A consumer cooperative is formed to provide consumers with the goods and services required for their day-to-day life in terms of maximum possible economic advantage. Consumer cooperatives undertake retail, wholesale trading and some of them undertakes processing of consumer goods.Consumer Cooperatives have crossed a century by their existence. The structure of consumer cooperatives is not some in all over India. In some states, they are having unitary structure and in some states federal structure pattern.
