Abstract

Throughout human history, countless great thinkers and philosophers have shared their experiences, truths, and knowledge to guide humanity toward a virtuous and prosperous life. To eliminate social evils, they proposed various reformist ideas. Among these, notable figures include Valluvar, Periyar, Bharathiar, Patidharsan, and Vedathiri.

These reformists advocated that ignorance, superstitions, and caste-based discrimination in society should be eradicated through rational thought. They emphasized education, respect for women, elimination of blind practices, and family-oriented social reforms. The present study explores these reformist ideas and their relevance, drawing on the contributions of these eminent thinkers.
