Job Involvement of Law College Teachers in Tiruchirappalli District

Abstract

This study examines the level of job involvement among law college teachers in the Tiruchirappalli District. Job involvement, defined as the degree to which an individual psychologically identifies with their work, is a critical determinant of teacher effectiveness and institutional quality. A descriptive research design was adopted using a structured questionnaire administered to 50 respondents selected through simple random sampling method. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, chi-square test, t-test, and one-way ANOVA were used for analysis. The findings indicate that 52% of the respondents exhibited high job involvement. No significant association was found between age, religion, and job involvement, while caste showed a statistically significant association (P < 0.05). Designation-wise ANOVA revealed significant differences in job involvement across academic ranks. The study concludes that job involvement is influenced by demographic and professional factors. Future research should explore the psychological, motivational, and institutional variables influencing job involvement among legal education professionals.
