Role of Construction Sector in Economic Growth in India

Abstract

This paper attempts to estimate trend of construction ofpublic, private corporateand household sectorin India for the period of 2004-05 to 2012-13. The analysis is base on the data for the nine years. The index number statistical tools applied to estimate the fluctuation. It was resulted that the slightly fluctuated. On the basis of fitted trend, future value hasbeen predicted. The economic growth was analysedthe direction of causality between GDP and construction in public, private corporate and house hold sector. The findings indicate a strong relationship between the dependent and independent variables.
