Abstract

The quick development of artificial intelligence (AI) has drastically changed the e-commerce industry, altering how companies engage with clients and provide tailored experiences. This study looks at how AI-driven personalisation can improve consumer satisfaction, engagement, and conversion rates on digital commerce platforms. Personalisation has become a strategic necessity for competitive differentiation due to the exponential rise of online marketplaces like Amazon, Alibaba Group, and eBay. AI technologies, such as machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and predictive analytics, allow platforms to evaluate enormous amounts of consumer data in order to provide intelligent search results, dynamic pricing, personalised marketing messages, and product suggestions.
This study uses a mixed-methods approach, integrating consumer surveys and industry experts’ qualitative views with quantitative analysis of user interaction data. The study looks into how AI models employ contextual, transactional and behavioural data to forecast consumer preferences and enhance user experiences. Collaborative filtering, content-based filtering and deep learning models for recommendation systems are important analytical methods. The results show that important performance metrics like click-through rates, average order value and customer retention are greatly enhanced by AI-powered personalisation.
However, the report also highlights important obstacles to the application of AI in e-commerce, such as issues with algorithmic bias, data protection, transparency and the moral use of customer data. In order to strike a balance between innovation and consumer trust, regulatory frameworks and data protection regulations are essential. In order to guarantee ethical personalisation techniques, the research emphasises the significance of explainable AI models and strong data governance strategies.
