Abstract

Emerging technologies are rapidly transforming modern society by changing how people communicate, work, learn, and access services. Innovations such as artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, and biotechnology are creating new opportunities for economic growth, enhanced healthcare, and increased efficiency across various industries. These technologies support automation, data analysis, and digital communication, enabling organizations to enhance productivity and improve their decision-making processes. However, the rapid growth of technology also raises important challenges. Issues such as job displacement due to automation, privacy risks, cybersecurity threats, and the digital divide are becoming significant concerns for society. This paper examines the major emerging technologies and analyses their positive and negative social implications. The study uses qualitative research based on secondary data collected from books, research articles, and online sources. The findings show that while emerging technologies provide significant benefits such as innovation and economic development, they also require careful management and regulation. Governments, educational institutions, and organizations must adopt responsible policies and promote digital literacy to ensure that technological progress benefits all members of society. Understanding the social implications of emerging technologies is therefore essential for achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
