Strategic Integration of AI and VR Interventions to Address Employability Skill Gaps and Improve Institutional Placement Performance
Abstract
This research investigates the disparity in employability skill gaps between academic learning outcomes and industry requirements and explore how interventions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) can be strategically used to help close the gap and improve placement outcomes. The study is conducted in a mixed-methods design that explores the alignment of digital skills, industry readiness and immersive learning interventions in higher education institutions. According to quantitative results, AI-driven skill analytics performance metrics measure placement success very well, and VR experiential simulations improve communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The research suggests that the introduction of a Strategic AI–VR Employability Framework, which combines digital innovation, ecosystem cooperation, and institutional strategy, could positively impact graduate employability outcomes. The results feed into innovation management and digital transformation strategy and entrepreneurship education.
