Abstract

The landscape of cooperative institutions in India has been profoundly altered by digital transformation, which incorporates technology-driven financial services and digital payment systems. Grounded in the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), cooperatives prioritize collective welfare, ethical trade, and inclusive growth. This paper investigates the ways in which digital transformation, especially the adoption of digital payments, fortifies the cooperative business model while upholding indigenous economic values. The research delves into the incorporation of digital platforms such as UPI, mobile banking, and cooperative fintech solutions within cooperative societies. It underscores how digital payments improve transparency, efficiency, financial inclusion, and sustainable competitiveness. The paper concludes that aligning digital transformation with IKS principles can modernize cooperatives while preserving their socio-economic goals.
