Abstract

Citrus trees grown throughout the world for their refreshing juice and health benefits.The numerouspytonutrients,health benefits of citrus fruits are linked to the high amounts of photochemical andbioactive compounds such as flavonoids,carotenoids, vitamins and minerals. These phytonutrients act asanantioxidants, stimulate the immune systems and block the damage of the genetic materials.The phytonutrientstheutilization of these bioactive rich citrus residues can provide an efficient,inexpensive, and environment friendly platform for the production of novel nutraceuticals.
