A Study on Relationship Between Personality Disorder and Emotional Intelligence of Arts and Science College Students

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the personality disorder and emotional intelligence of arts and science college students with reference to Gender and Locality of the college. In the present study normative survey method was done by the investigator. Five Factor Measures Of Schizotypal Personality Disorder Scale (FFM-STPD)-Constructed and Standardized by Maryanne Edmundson (2010) and Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) Constructed and Standardized by Petrides and Furnham, (2006). For the purpose of the study a sample of 1000 arts and science college students were selected through simple random sampling technique. The data were collected and Mean, Standard deviation, t-test were used to analyze the data. The result found is that the level of personality disorder of arts and science college students is at a low level but emotional intelligence is at a high level. There is a significant difference between gender and locality of the college of arts and science college students in respect of personality disorder and there is no significant difference between gender and locality of the college of arts and science college students in respect of emotional intelligence.
