Abstract

The Sangam hymns are written in a natural setting, so that they cannot be separated from nature. The uniqueness of the Tamils of the Sangam period was that they tried to understand their existence by appreciating the environment. Various values about the environment have been revealed in the Sangam hymns by presenting nature. They have recorded various trends in the life of ancient Tamils.
