Abstract

Education serves as a means to improve an individual’s life. The knowledge one acquires through education is an invaluable wealth that cannot be destroyed. Education is universal for the human race. This principle has been beautifully highlighted in classical Tamil texts such as the Thirukkural by Thiruvalluvar and the Naladiyar by the Jain sages. However, these texts also exhibit certain distinctive characteristics in their approach to education.
