Abstract

Some flowers are listed in the book Aingurunuru as flowers blooming in the spring. They are Erikodi, Kaya, Kuravam, Thalavam Nunavam, Maraam, Mullai, Neembu, and Athiral. Literary studies indicate the importance of the flowers in the five chapters of the book Aingurunuru, namely Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal Palai, their context, and their symbolic meanings in love and domestic life. The purpose of this article is to reveal that the flowers in the book Aingurunuru are used as metaphors to express feelings such as love, separation, and longing between Thalaivan and Thalaivi.
